Weekly Wine(d) Up!
Take a glimpse below at one of my wine and food pairings from this weekend for inspiration with your next meal!
This weekend was filled with many delicious drinks and also lots of fun memories! While this won’t be your typical food and wine pairing, I thought it would be fun to show you the cocktails and wine that I had and what my top three were! So without further ado, let’s get to sippin!
Starting off with #3, we have this Chai Martini called Sweet Chai of Mine from Stone Rose in Conshy! This was a superb drink and really didn’t have a strong flavor of alcohol or an overwhelming amount of spice from the chai. I really enjoyed the vanilla vodka component to it and the honey vanilla cold foam was a great addition. The only thing that I would change is that it would be fall when I am sipping this drink since it has all the flavors that remind me of pumpkin spice!
Moving on to our honorary #2 spot, we have my first Aperol Spritz of the season! Not really much to say here besides when the weather gets warm, I crave one of these and I finally got to have one. My mom and sister loved how I made these and the only thing I would change is that I would have had a garnish to go with this drink. Otherwise, no notes!
And finally drum roll please for the #1 spot…Lula Pinot Noir from Anderson Valley! This Pinot was everything I look for in a Pinot and more. It’s juicy, it’s light bodied (perfect for the warm day we had here), it’s got the earth notes you want to balance out the fruit forward notes in this wine. It was also the most beautiful dark plum color. It is perfection and I highly recommend grabbing a bottle if you can!
Some of the food we had to go along with these wines and cocktails as well as some others not featured were a charcuterie board, scrambled eggs made with a family recipe, bagels from the one and only NYC, and some sushi and ramen from a local spot near us! Some other things not pictured we had this weekend were pizza from our favorite pizza shop with mushrooms and black olives, grilled cheese with tomato, and some other yummy apps! Safe to say a good weekend to eat out but now I’m ready for some home cooked meals. I hope you all had a great weekend and Mother’s Day!
That’s all for now so…
Until next time wine lovers, cheers!
